A Heart y Lunch at Pablo's

I was looking forward to February 13 as Liann, our petite and cute officemate will once again celebrate her natal day.

Later did I know that we will be treated to a hearty lunch at Pablo’s Steaks and Crabs by the birthday girl. I was thrilled. Due to a function at Paseo during that time we were however accommodated at Ranchero Grill instead.

The Menu is mouth-watering...

We feasted on Insalata del Sol, Baby Back Ribs, Rib Eye Steak, Sinigang na Hipon and
Heaven's Dessert which were all so yummy. The service was great as our food attendant was so attentive to all our needs. We went back at the office with our stomach so full and with a happy spirit.

I'm Lost...

Things have been going badly for me lately
Dreams have started to fade slowly
I tried to be strong
but I felt weaker than ever
I tried to be brave
but the pain became even greater.
I'm Lost...

NDDFG Batch 1998 Reunion

We are who we are after a decade..

It was on March 1998 when we graduated from our beloved alma mater, Notre Dame of Dadiangas for Girls now known as Notre Dame of General Santos City.

And now after a decade we decided it was time to catch up with our long lost buddies some of whom we last saw on our graduation day.

Being one of the officers elected for the alumni, I felt somehow responsible to make this event into a realization. Good thing, my dear friend luzie who came from St. Thomas Aquinas while I came from Mother Francisca class is a Pro in organizing events. She was hands on in the details for the upcoming event and was generously giving her time and effort for its success.

Finally and after months of preparation, the big day came on December 27, 2008, 6pm at The Tent, Orange Bistro. There were about 55 attendees..only 10 came from my class (so sad)! Despite the minor setbacks we had a blast that night. Our stomach was full and we had fun with our shindig.

Was it not for the generous sponsors the event would have not been very successful so our gratitude to them who generously shared with us to make this event a success.

Good friends were once again reunited. It was fun seeing how we have grown after a decade of separation from the institution which practically molded our teenage life. I miss the good old high school days. I miss the fun that we had in the old campus. It was worth traveling down the memory lane and seeing old friends who had once brightened my life.

High School life is the best indeed!

My Baguio Escapade...

We left for Baguio City from Manila at 11 in the evening. It was freezing onboard Victory Liner so I took the luxury of sleeping as I was exhausted with the trip from Gensan to Manila and strolling MOA to bid the time for the baguio trip.

With the 7 hours trip from Manila, I only woke up and saw the stop over in Tarlac, other than that I was asleep all the time.

Arriving in Baguio at past 5 am on November 23 with a rainy weather was totally appalling for me. My legs were shaking due to the coldness of the weather and my clothes which to my expectation were already a comfort in the cold weather was unfortunately not enough. Unforeseen events pushed us (me, aca, lrb, te' tiny, te miday, gary, manang emmylou) to change board & lodging reservations thus we were compelled to wait a few hours at Andok's along Session Road to find a better home to stay.

Good thing, the Villa Catalina (i will post more about this) owned by kuya ray and ate cena along Ferguson Road is available for us to stay. A room good for 7 person is just so perfect for us. We were provided with comfort plus they were "bisaya" too thus making us felt closer to home.

Our stay in Baguio was really fun. We were able to stroll in Burnham Park, SM Baguio, The Mansion, Mines View PArk, Strawberry Fields, Lourdes Grotto, PMA, Camp John Hay and the Wagwagan along Maharlika Complex. The Session Road was fun at night. It seems that people walking along Session Road is endless. And finding Beso Beso was a delight that the store personnel had to remind us that its already late and they were about to close for the night.

I never had much walking marathon in my life until that night we were accompanied by kuya ray to go wagwagan along Harrison and Maharlika. However, despite my tired body and sored feet it felt good anyway as the weather was so cool and overwhelming. You rarely get to sweat in Baguio. We left Baguio on the dawn of 27. I felt sad leaving the place as I really have enjoyed the trip. Villa Catalina is awesome plus kuya ray and jerson were so accommodating and Hersheys too is such a sweet welcoming sight.

It was really worth the wait to have this unforgettable trip.

THE RAIN

Its been raining a lot lately in this southern part of Mindanao which made me thought of how life has been with rain.

Rain is a state of melancholy for me. It reminds me of many sad thoughts and events in my life. As the water drips outside the window I also start to reminisce my past, of things that has long gone by, of pains that made me shed buckets of tears.

Life has been cruel. I never had an inkling how painful it is when once heart gets broken by those of whom she loves.

Losing loved ones too is painful. Its like losing a piece of yourself that you can never get back. Even how hard you try to forget about the pain, it just wouldn’t go so easily after all, loving is not a simple thing.

However, like the rain in our own time we will just stop falling. Living is fighting and getting hurt is envitable. And that once in a while its good to see the rain outside our window pane. Somehow, despite the sad thought it brings I still want to see rain.

MR. BARILES ON HIS 1ST BLOGOVERSARY

I have known Mr. Bariles, blogger or Kuya Avel way back in my Junior Prex Days. We were quite very active then in the organization in that year 1999. But after a year or 2 we lost touch because I was kinda busy with work and studies.

However, 4 years after we meet again. This time it was in the office of our boss and I was so glad seeing him there. He was a welcome sight after feeling alienated entering the office on a busy Monday morning trying to get a chance to have a personal audience with his boss who will decide for my destiny that time. I would never forget that day kuya.

Aside from so many things that I will be forever grateful with Kuya Avel I'm also thankful for his never ending reminder for me to learn and practice the art of blogging. I never took things seriously as I'm so busy with so many stuff to attend.

But not until one day, he really sat on my desk and started creating a blog for me. He taught me the basic things and lo and behold I was back to writing again. It was like a part of me is free again. After being enclosed with discouragement, rejection, pain, sadness and death of my loved ones I have started to soar again.

I have realized there are greater heights I can soar to when I joined the very successful and recently concluded MBS2 in Gensan where Kuya Avel was the Event Director and Chairman. The blogosphere is a vast field where I can explore many ideas to blog on and at the same time my therapy for my lost soul.

Again, my profound gratitude kuya for this wonderful experience and I'm looking forward to reading more inspiring blogs from you not only for the good of Gensan but for the whole of Mindanao.

Happy, Happy 1st Blogoversary.
